Synopsis
"And then let's all put on a happy face up for Flats the flounder!"
In the starting time of the episode, SpongeBob is at boating school, and Mrs. Puff announces a new pupil will be joining the grade. His name is Flats the Flounder, and he tells SpongeBob that he is going to "kick his butt." SpongeBob at start assumes him to be joking, only Flats shortly makes information technology articulate that he actually means to beat out upwardly SpongeBob. An extremely paranoid SpongeBob tries to seek assistance and to reason with Flats, merely to no avail.
SpongeBob asks Patrick for help, only to learn that he and Flats were buddies back in community higher. He so tries to go to Mrs. Puff to help, who talks to Flats and explains to SpongeBob that "kicking his butt" ways that Flats wants to become his friend, which is obviously not true. He so encounters Flats' dad in a boat and confronts him about his son'south actions, only for the latter to get upwardly to his begetter and threaten him every bit well, because he said "At present he's gonna kick my butt!". SpongeBob panics and sprints away.
He eventually runs away into town, where Flats attempts to run him over with a garbage truck, but he eventually drives over a banana peel SpongeBob drops, causing it to flip over. Flats awakens in the hospital, where he learns that SpongeBob saved his life past performing CPR on him for five hours direct.
Despite this, Flats continues to pursue SpongeBob; when SpongeBob runs through town, some people kick an old man'due south barrel who they call back is going to kick SpongeBob's butt. The old human being was by a bus stop and Harold asks how many times they have to teach him this lesson. Somewhen, he corners SpongeBob in his own habitation, where he proceeds to vanquish him upwardly.

Withal, due to SpongeBob'south spongy trunk, he absorbs the blows without harm. Flats continues to hit SpongeBob nonstop throughout all of side by side calendar week, until he finally faints from burnout; his classmates cheer for SpongeBob. Mrs. Puff ends the episode by shouting to a stunned SpongeBob that she is going to kick his barrel.

- Twice during the episode, SpongeBob runs in fear from Flats and inadvertently points to an sometime fish when he says Flats is going to kick his barrel. The citizens of Bikini Lesser, led past Harold, are angry at this, and try to beat up the sometime man.
